Wardrobe Building Weekend Retreat - September 2024

Looking for ways to be more intentional with your handmade wardrobe? Want to go into a new season of sewing with a plan or checklist? Escape to Makers Hideaway for a weekend away of designing, planning, and sewing your dream wardrobe.

Over 2-1/2 days, enjoy lots of free time working on any project you'd like. Tackle garments on your sewing wishlist or finish projects to fill specific holes in your wardrobe. Each morning, we’ll also gather as a group for different wardrobe-building activities, including creating style mood boards, experimenting with color, brainstorming solutions to your wardrobe troubles, and more!

As a bonus, this weekend marks the release of our collection of fall fabrics. Get a first peak at the new fabrics. Touch and feel samples of the latest collection and learn how you might use each to see if they are a fit your seasonal makes. The Style Maker Fabrics shop will also be open throughout the weekend if you need any extra fabric, patterns, or supplies, including all the newly released fabrics!

While this weekend might sound a bit overwhelming, we want this to be a relaxing escape free from the stresses of everyday life, allowing you to think about where your handmade wardrobe is now and what changes you’d like to make going forward. What pieces are missing? What don’t you love about it? What colors do you need to add more of? Let us take care of the cooking and cleaning, and you enjoy a weekend of planning and sewing.

This is an all-inclusive sewing weekend escape! It includes shared luxury lodging, food + drinks + snacks, and instruction from our sewing experts. Bring yourself, your sewing machine (if possible), and the projects you want to work on and enjoy a weekend of sewing, relaxation, and time with like-minded sewists!

Retreat Dates:

Thursday, September 19th thru Sunday, September 22nd, 2024

Location: Makers Hideaway retreat center, Stanwood, Washington

• Roughly one hour North of Seattle.
• Fifteen minutes from Smokey Point (I-5 exit 206)
• Convenient from Stanwood or Everett train stations or Everett's Paine Field Airport (PAE). There is also a local shuttle from SeaTac Airport (SEA) if needed.

Have any dietary restrictions? Want to room with a friend? Need transportation from a local train station or airport? We'll do our best to help meet all of your needs. We'll be in contact with each attendee in the weeks leading up to the event to make sure everything is in place for a worry-free weekend!

Cancellation Policy: For cancellations made on or before 9/1/24, there is a $50 processing fee. For cancellations made after 9/1/24, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.
