Gift the gift of sewing this holiday season! Treat a sewist in your life to a cozy tape measure scarf, or better yet, give them the kit to sew their own. We cut a handful of our new Tape Measure Double Knit Panels into individual tape measure strips and paired them with a complimentary jersey knit to create the coziest knit scarf. Simply lay the two pieces right sides together
Kits come with (1) Individual Tape Measure panel, (1) matching jersey knit strip, and (1) spool of matching thread.
Finished scarf measures roughly 15" wide x 98" long.
Instructions: Lay the two fabric pieces right sides together. Stitch around the edge** of the tape measure panel with a straight stitch leaving a small opening for turning. Trim seam allowances to roughly 3/8" and clip corners. Turn the scarf right side out through the opening. Press flat, and hand sew or top stitch the opening close.
**When sewing, we sewed just inside the "line" created by the color change of the threads in the jacquard knit along the edge of the tape measure. You could also trim the tape measure from the right side to the amount of seam allowance desired and use that cut edge as your guide. No need to cut the jersey to match, do that after it is sewn!
