Sewing Knits with Confidence Weekend Retreat - April 2024

Ready to jump into the world of sewing with knits, but aren't sure where to start? Have you tried, but weren't happy with the results? This is the retreat for you! Go home with the skills and confidence to sew a wardrobe full of favorite knit garments!

After lots of requests, we are exited to offer our first Sewing Knits with Confidence Weekend Retreat at Makers Hideaway! Knit-expert Katrina Walker (@sewkatrina) will be walking you thru basic techniques, tips, and tricks to help conquer your fears and fall in love with sewing knits. 

Start off the weekend with a comprehensive introduction to knit sewing. Sew stitch and seam samples on a variety of knit fabrics, learn about content, stretch, and when to use interfacing, practice different neckline finishes, and tips for even the trickiest hems.

Spend the rest of the weekend putting your new skills to good use by making a classic knit t-shirt and simple knit jacket. As you work to complete these two wardrobe building garments, practice cutting knits, basic fitting, garment construction, and finishing techniques. 

This is an all-inclusive sewing weekend escape! It includes shared luxury lodging, food + drinks + snacks, and instruction from sewing expert Katrina. Enjoy a relaxing weekend of learning, sewing, and camaraderie with a group of fellow sewists, and let us take care of all the cooking and cleaning!

Retreat Dates:

Thursday, April 18th thru Sunday, April 21st, 2024

Location: Makers Hideaway retreat center, Stanwood, Washington

• Roughly one hour North of Seattle.
• Fifteen minutes from Smokey Point (I-5 exit 206)
• Convenient from Stanwood or Everett train stations or Everett's Paine Field Airport (PAE). There is also a local shuttle from SeaTac Airport (SEA) if needed.
