Sew Your Own Jeans Weekend Retreat - April 2025

The Jeans-Making Queen, Lauren Taylor (aka LLADYBIRD), is joining us at Makers Hideaway for the ultimate sewing weekend. Over the course of 2-1/2 days, she will help take your sewing skills to the next level and you will leave with your very own pair of custom jeans!

Using the Ginger Jeans as your guide, Lauren will walk you thru each step toward creating your own professional-looking jeans. She’ll cover everything from choosing the correct size and performing basic fit adjustments to installing a fly zipper and adding professional jeans hardware.

We’ll check in and get settled Thursday night and be ready for class to begin Friday morning. Lauren will kick things off by letting everyone try on her pre-made Ginger Jeans samples to see what size works best and learn more about fit. Then, let the official cutting and fitting begin! Instruction on jeans construction and all the finishing touches will continue thru the weekend and everyone will be ready to head home Sunday afternoon with their very own pair of jeans! Lauren’s goal is to also leave you with all the skills and confidence you need to go home and make many more!

Retreat Dates: Thursday, April 24th thru Sunday, 27th, 2025

Location: Makers Hideaway retreat center, Stanwood, Washington

• Roughly one hour North of Seattle.
• Fifteen minutes from Smokey Point (I-5 exit 206)
• Convenient from Stanwood or Everett train stations or Everett's Paine Field Airport (PAE). There is also a local shuttle from SeaTac Airport (SEA) if needed.

• 18 hours of jeans-making instruction from Lauren Taylor
• 3 Nights Accommodations at Makers Hideaway + All Meals,  Beverages, and Snacks

Instructor Bio: Lauren Taylor is a sewing enthusiast and rad sewing instructor based in Nashville, TN. 100% self-taught, Lauren has been sewing for most of her life and makes pretty much all of her clothing at this point. In addition to teaching fun sewing classes and workshops, Lauren also works professionally in wardrobe + alterations for commercials, tour wardrobes, and red carpet events. Cancellation Policy: For cancellations made at least one month prior the start of the retreat, there is a $50 processing fee. For cancellations made within three weeks of retreat start, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.
