Ultimate Bag Making Weekend Retreat - June 2025

Ready to try your hand at bag making? Or do you have experience sewing bags but want to explore creating your own design or maybe replicating a bag you love? Escape to Makers Hideaway this summer for our Ultimate Bag Making Retreat!

Join us for almost three days of dedicated bag sewing time to tackle any bag project(s) you'd like. Try a new pattern or experiment with creating your own with a group of fellow bag-making enthusiasts. With a room full of experience and amazing ideas, there will be no shortage of support!

Our own Michelle will also be available throughout the weekend should you need help adjusting pattern pieces, tackling new techniques, or picking out the perfect fabric. With years of bag making experience, she'll be ready to hack, decipher, and whatever else might come up! She will also bring her library of past bag projects to use as a reference should anyone need them for ideas.

This is an all-inclusive sewing weekend escape! It includes shared luxury lodging at Makers Hideaway, food + drinks + snacks, and assistance from Michelle. Bring yourself, your ideas/projects, and your sewing machine (if possible), and let us take care of all the cooking and cleaning so you can enjoy a weekend of sewing and time with other sewists! 

Retreat Dates:

Thursday, June 26th thru Sunday, June 29th, 2024

Location: Makers Hideaway retreat center, Stanwood, Washington

• Roughly one hour North of Seattle.
• Fifteen minutes from Smokey Point (I-5 exit 206)
• Convenient from Stanwood or Everett train stations or Everett's Paine Field Airport (PAE). There is also a local shuttle from SeaTac Airport (SEA) if needed.

• 18 hours of bag-making assistance/instruction from Michelle Stoffel

We'll be in contact with each attendee in the weeks leading up to the event to make sure everything is in place for a worry-free weekend!

Instructor Bio:

Cancellation Policy: For cancellations made on or before 6/1/25, there is a $50 processing fee. For cancellations made after 6/1/25, 50% of the registration fee will be refunded.
