We are excited to offer our first bag-making weekend retreat by popular request! Throughout the 2-1/2 day retreat, our own Michelle will walk you through the ins and outs of bag supplies, design, and construction. Take a closer look at different interfacings and how they change the look and feel of your finished bag, get comfortable with what adjustments you can make to the design and what areas you shouldn’t change, and learn a few tips and tricks to take the stress out of bag making projects and set you up for better success.
Using two of our favorite Noodlehead patterns (a tote and shoulder bag) as our guide, we'll cover various techniques and bag features. These include installing interior and exterior zippers, hidden magnetic snaps, customized interior pockets, finished linings, D-rings and other bag hardware, and more. And if there is time, we’ll make a small matching wallet to go with our new bags!
This is an all-inclusive sewing weekend escape! It includes shared luxury lodging at Makers Hideaway, food + drinks + snacks, and instruction from Michelle. Bring yourself and your sewing machine (if possible), and let us take care of all the cooking and cleaning so you can enjoy a weekend of sewing and time with other sewists!
To make things even easier, all the supplies needed for the class will be provided when you arrive. We'll be in touch before the retreat to ask about fabric color or design preferences and send you possible options for your unique kit!
