Step Up Your Pressing Game—Sewists know the true secret to professional-looking garments is the pressing. Take your pressing skills to the next level with these useful tools. Learn more about each one below.
Pressing with Wood: The combination of structure, weight, and absorptive qualities make wood a great material choice for pressing tools. Get perfectly flat pressed seams with the ergonomic clapper. With the Point Presser, press hard to reach seams and get perfectly pressed points on collars, lapels, etc. As an added bonus, the base of the Point Presser can also act as a clapper!
Wood Clapper and Wood Tailor's Point Presser & Clapper are made in the USA from Red Oak. They are solid wood and are unfinished—color may vary.
Pressing with Wool: Shorten your pressing time with these 100% New Zealand wool tools. The inherent qualities of wool allow it to grip the fabric to prevent it from shifting around, absorb steam, and retain heat letting you almost press the fabric from both sides at the same time. The pressing mat can even act as a mini ironing board for pressing small items. Or press long or hard-to-reach seams with the wool-wrapped pressing bar.
Wool Pressing Mat—Measures 12" square and roughly 1/2" thick.
Wool Seam Pressing Bar—Wool is wrapped around a curved solid wood core. Measures 17-3/4" long.
